Picard, Leader in France in Premium Frozen Food, Selects Lascom CPG to Boost Product Innovation and Improve Portfolio Management

San Diego, CA, August 11, 2015 – Lascom, PLM software editor, today announced that Picard, favorite brand of French people in premium frozen meals has chosen to implement its solution to boost product innovation and improve product portfolio management.

Picard employs 4500 people in Europe and sells more than 40 types of frozen vegetables, 130 frozen sea food products, 150 frozen starters and appetizers, 200 frozen entrees, 70 frozen pastries and desserts. The French leader owns more than 950 stores in France and has a turnover of €1.4 billion. The company is also specialized in phone and online orderings. Picard positioning is premium quality and the company is concerned about sustainable development. This results in making Picard the favorite brand in France for 2015.

While expanding worldwide and just set up in Japan, through a partnership with Aeon, Picard decides to drive an aggressive innovation strategy. Picard products portfolio is about 1100 products, including 200 product innovations each year.

Project managers at Picard were convinced by Lascom CPG ability to fully integrate business processes in the solution. To improve its innovation and globalization strategy, Picard, must deal with trickiest portfolio management issues such as standardizing innovation, reducing time to market, handling a growing volume of data, being multi-regulatory compliant and generating multi-lingual labeling.

Some of Picard main objectives are also to centralize products specifications and better collaborate with suppliers.

Using Lascom supplier portal, Picard fully collaborate with suppliers to launch bills of specifications, update ingredients, generate technical datasheets or improve traceability. A dedicated access has been customized for Picard’s suppliers to easily fill and update data. Therefore, specifications and certifications responsibility drifts on suppliers’ side. This process not only save Picard teams’ time, but also fully involves suppliers in the retailer activity, improving collaboration.
