LASCOM'S PLM helps YOPLAIT achieve faster product development times
Dairy produce manufacturer Yoplait has chosen LASCOM's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) suite, Lascom PLM™, to significantly reduce product development times and increase company-wide productivity.
It will free up staff to concentrate on product innovation and improvement by automating time-consuming manual administrative tasks. Lascom PLM will manage data generated across the entire range of Yoplait products, including household brands such as Frubes, Weight Watchers yoghurts and Yop.
Users across the company will be able to look up ingredient origin, modification impact on all goods, product change history as well as use a master recipe to allow easy assembling of different varieties.
"We are continually looking to better our research and development and increase the speed of product innovation, so we can continue to deliver the market leading results our customers expect," says Damien Pinot, Yoplait information systems manager.
Lascom PLM will now remove the need for Yoplait staff to develop tenders with nutritional facts and packing requirements manually, as it pulls together all relevant information from a central database.
"Our experience within the food industry combined with a strong PLM solution has enabled us to develop a version of Lascom PLM especially tailored to meet Yoplait's requirements," says Jean-Louis Henriot, CEO of LASCOM. "Lascom PLM continues to support cutting-edge innovation in the food industry, and will help Yoplait stay among the leaders."
Yoplait is the second largest worldwide trademark of fresh dairy products and is established in 50 markets, where it is often a brand leader in fresh dairy products. The head office is in France, and it runs four factories in France, with subsidiaries or joint ventures in Belgium, Czech Republic, Scandinavia and the UK and licenses in major markets such as the USA, Mexico, Canada and Australia. More than 15,000 pots of Yoplait yoghurt are eaten every minute worldwide.
